Breast Angiosarcoma Treatment

Angiosarcomas of the breast can be difficult to diagnose. And because they are so rare, there is no established standard treatment. Removal of the breast (mastectomy) and chemotherapy are the most likely choices of treatment.

Lumpectomy – surgery to remove the tumor and a wide margin of surrounding tissue (helps prevent recurrence)
Mastectomy – surgery to remove all of the breast tissue
Chemotherapy – most angiosarcomas will not benefit from chemo
